Holistic Sleep Apnea Solutions in San Juan Capistrano
The Alternative You’ve Been Seeking
Have you been living with a condition like sleep apnea because you just didn’t like the standard treatment – or found it uncomfortable or not especially effective?
Or maybe you’ve been newly diagnosed and are exploring options beyond CPAP for apnea.
Here at the Laguna Hills Center for Sleep Apnea & CPAP Intolerance, we take a holistic and personalized approach to treating OSA. Instead of managing symptoms, we strive to address root causes to bring long-term relief – and to do so in gentle, minimally invasive, and cost-effective ways.
Frankly, we think it’s a better way to support our patients’ oral AND whole body health and well-being.
A Better Night’s Sleep – No CPAP Required
Obstructive sleep apnea is like drowning in your sleep. This puts an enormous amount of stress on your body, both from oxygen deprivation and your body going into “red alert” mode each time it senses you’ve stopped breathing. Feeling tired when you get up in the morning is just one consequence. You also have a higher risk of conditions like hypertension (high blood pressure), heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s, and more.
For years, the only real solution has been “continuous positive airway pressure,” or CPAP, which keeps the airway open with a steady stream of air. It’s extremely effective. It’s been a real lifesaver for many.
But some find the breathing mask uncomfortable. Or they hate the hassle of hauling their equipment whenever they travel. Or they just don’t want to be dependent on a machine to get a good night’s sleep.
Oral Appliance Therapy to the Rescue!
Today, a wide range of FDA-approved oral appliances are available, scientifically proven to be just as effective as CPAP, even for severe cases of OSA. Most work by simply holding the lower jaw or tongue in an optimal forward position during sleep, so they can’t fall back and block your airway as you relax. Your airway remains free and clear.
The advanced oral appliances we use at the Laguna Hills Center for Sleep Apnea & CPAP Intolerance are lightweight and custom-fitted to your teeth. Our patients find them comfortable and convenient in a way that CPAP can never be, and they love working with Dr. Ann Abdulla, one of the only dentists in Orange County trained and board-certified in dental sleep medicine.
Oral appliance therapy can help you sleep – and breathe – easy, so you can look, feel, and be your best every day. It’s a simple solution with whole body benefits.

About
San Juan Capistrano(Spanish for “St. John of Capistrano”) is a city in Orange County, California, located along the Orange Coast. The population was 34,593 at the 2010 census.
San Juan Capistrano was founded by the Spanish in 1776, when St. Junu00edpero Serra established Mission San Juan Capistrano. Extensive damage caused by the 1812 Capistrano earthquake caused the community to decline. Following the Mexican secularization act of 1833, the mission village officially became a town and was briefly renamed as San Juan de Argu00fcello. Following the American Conquest of California, San Juan remained a small, rural town until the 20th century; the restoration of the mission in the 1910-20s transformed the town into a tourist destination and a backdrop for Hollywood films.
