Dr. Cynthia Diep has extensive training and experience in a number of disciplines, including cosmetic dentistry, sleep disorders, orofacial pain, acupuncture, and integrative medicine. Because of her expertise, she is able to take a holistic whole-body approach to help patients find effective, long-term treatment solutions for insomnia, sleep apnea, snoring, headache, nerve pain, burning mouth syndrome, and other orofacial disorders.
She earned a Doctorate in Dental Surgery from UCLA, where she also completed a Residency in Orofacial Pain and Sleep Medicine. Her interest in Integrated Medicine (IM), the blending of modern Western treatments with traditional Chinese medicine, increased during her studies at the UCLA Center for East-West Medicine. After earning a Master’s degree in Acupuncture, she achieved Diplomate status with the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and is certified and licensed in California.
To fulfill her passion for teaching and research, Dr. Diep serves on the teaching faculty of UCLA Health and lectures at the UCLA School of Dentistry - Orofacial Pain Clinic. Dr. Diep is also a dedicated volunteer both locally and internationally. To provide much needed medical-dental treatment for children, Dr. Diep volunteered for aid missions in Vietnam and Cambodia. At Accueil Saint-Frai Hospital in Lourdes, France, Dr. Diep served as a medical staff volunteer from 2003 to 2006. She put her acupuncture skills to work to treat athletes at the 2015 Los Angeles Special Olympic World Games. And, for five consecutive years, she volunteered on parade committees for one of her favorite annual events, the Pasadena Tournament of Roses.
